Important notice: The presentations are for reference purposes only. A 2026 Census questionnaire must be completed in English or in French, online, by phone or paper version.
The 2A-L questionnaire is the long-form Census of Population questionnaire. A sample of 25% of Canadian households receive a long-form questionnaire. The long-form questionnaire collects the same demographic information as the short-form questionnaire, as well as information about the social and economic situation of people across Canada and about the dwellings they live in.
The 2A-L Questions and reasons why the questions are asked are available in alternate formats, including American Sign Language (ASL), Langue des signes québécoise (LSQ), audio, DAISY, electronic braille and e-text.
People who have a hearing or speech impairment and need help completing their questionnaire should call the Census Help Line TTY number (1-833-830-3109) to request assistance. Video relay services can also be used.
