The following resources are provided as reference to help you better understand the census. In addition to English and French, each of these resources has been produced in 28 languages, including 15 Indigenous languages and dialects.

We encourage you to share this information with your friends, family, colleagues and clients who could benefit from these resources.

Translations of the census questions and reasons why they are asked

The pages below provide translations of the questions that appear on the official census questionnaire and the reasons why the questions are asked.

Please note that the census questions were translated for reference purposes only. The census questionnaire must be completed in English or in French, online, by phone, on paper, or in person with a Census employee.

Short-form (2A) questions
